Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2

Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 detects body motion and the state of ambient light. If there are any people moving or any change in the ambient light state in the areas under detection, the motion sensor will send notice to the Matter app through the connected Matter Hub or link to other devices.

Native Matte Support Over Thread - The Aqara motion and light sensor P2 integrates seamlessly with the robust Matter platform and is compatible with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung. (*NOTE: The P2 does not currently support the Aqara Home app, but will soon do it with additional features via the Matter compatible Aqara on-board router).

Based on Thread protocol, the P2 sensor offers improved connectivity, low power consumption, high reliability, and low latency. At the same time, the P2 motion and light sensor with the FFS function allows seamless connection to your home network via Amazon Echo devices.

The integrated infrared and light sensor of Aqara motion and light sensors P2 monitors the presence of people in an area and the lighting values, which allows you to easily achieve automation for different tasks in your home, such as flexible automations for curtains and lighting. Compared to the Aqara motion sensor P1, the motion and light sensor P2 contains a separate light sensor that can be used for automations regardless of motion detection and is compatible with Matter. (*NOTE: Alexa does not support light sensor functionality)

The P2 sensor can detect movement in a larger range of up to 7 meters and at an angle of up to 170° horizontally and 45° vertically. The data comes from laboratory tests carried out in an environment of 25 °C / 77 °F. It also comes with a versatile 360° stand that allows you to easily adjust the viewing angle and triggers the sensor only when needed. The device comes with medium sensitivity as standard, but you can set the different sensitivity levels on the Aqara Home app later depending on seasonal changes or needs.

The motion sensor and light sensor P2 has a powerful 2×CR2450 lithium battery and provides up to twp years of power for 24/7 safety, one of the longest battery life among Matter over Thread sensors. (NOTE: Battery life depends on the respective Matter ecosystem and the number of Matter ecosystems to which the device is connected)
