Following the news from IFA 2024 that Aqara is releasing new Matter smart home devices in 2025, further details about the range have been shared on X (formerly Twitter).
The devices concerned are the Light Switch H2 EU, Dimmer Switch H2 EU, LED Bulb T2 RGB CCT, LED Bulb T2 CCT, Camera Hub G5 Pro, Voice Mate H1 and Panel Hub S1 Plus EU. As you might spot from the names of these devices, some are only compatible for use in the European Union, along with the CIS (Russia and former Soviet Union) and South East Asia.
Leaked ahead of January’s CES 2025 event, the devices cover a range of purposes.
Aqara Devices Expected to Be Unveiled at CES 2025
The leaked Aqara smart home devices, shared by user @CyberModStudio, expand on the previously announced tech, adding a voice control system and panel hub.
Light Switch H2 EU and Dimmer Switch H2 EU
The previously-announced 55mm devices have Zigbee and Thread support, 2-in-1 optional neutral wire configuration, and power monitoring. The Light Switch H2 EU has overheat and overload protection, power consumption monitoring, and wireless switching. The Dimmer Switch H2 EU has 1-100% gradual dimming, power monitoring (which seems to be slightly different to power consumption monitoring), and compatibility with wide lighting.
LED Bulb T2 RGB CCT and LED Bulb T2 CCT (Global)
These are Aqara’s first Thread-enabled bulbs (also with Zigbee support), with power off memory and automation support (using Aqara and third-party devices). The RGB bulb has 16 million “vibrant colors” and “ultra-wide tunable whites”, whereas the standard bulb has “wide tunable whites”.

Voice Mate H1 (Global)
Intended as a companion device to the standard Aqara hub (e.g. the Aqara Hub M3), this is an Aqara Copilot microphone, essentially a generative AI-backed voice assistant. It works without woke words, can deliver silent responses, supports action triggered automations, and is designed to be picked up and used.
Camera Hub G5 Pro (Global)
Announced at IFA 2024, this is an outdoor camera with PoE (Power over Ethernet, although USB-C power is also included) support that is intended to extend the smart home into the garden and other exterior zones of a property. As such, it includes a Matter controller, a Zigbee hub, and a Thread Border Router.
The Camera Hub G5 Pro operates as an Aqara and third-party device hub, and boasts end-to-end encryption, true color night vision, local detection and streaming, HomeKit secure video support, and 4MP image quality. IP65 rating means it can be used indoor and outdoor.
As a video device, there is no indication that Matter Casting is supported with the Camera Hub G5 Pro, although that shouldn’t be ruled out.
Panel Hub S1 Plus EU
The most visually interesting of these newly revealed Aqara Matter smart home devices, the Panel Hub S1 Plus has a 6.9-inch proximity-activated touchscreen display and is described as a “high-end smart control panel.”
With dual-band 2.4GHz/5Ghz Wi-Fi, and a built-in USB-C port, the device also has two built-in relay switches, wireless switching, and a built-in Zigbee 3.0 hub. Matter over Wi-Fi is supported (no Thread Border Router), and it also has camera streaming, making it perfect for use with the Camera Hub G5 Pro. Software hub functionality is also on offer, along with a customizable dashboard.

CES 2025 Will Matter
With all of these devices being prepared for unveiling by just one manufacturer, it’s reassuring to see Matter staying on the radar for 2025. In fact, there is a good chance that 2025 could be the year that Matter starts to make some real traction in the smart home space.
Various big names (and a lot of smaller ones, too) are planning new Matter releases in the next 12 months. We should also be expecting further revisions to the Matter standard.
CES 2025 official runs from Tue, 7 Jan 2025 to Sat, 11 Jan 2025, which means we’re potentially just weeks away from seeing a host of fascinating new Matter hardware for the first time.
