A pair of unannounced SwitchBot smart devices have made their first appearances today courtesy of the Connectivity Standards Alliance certified products database. The new devices include a Matter-compatible smart lamp for floors and a revamped smart home hub with a suite of physical on-device controls and a built-in motion-activated display.

The upcoming SwitchBot Floor Lamp sports a sleek modern design that closely resembles Govee's excellent Floor Lamp 2 which we recently reviewed. The lamp's stick design keeps its light source hidden positioning it as supplemental light that is well-suited for corners, but it also can serve as a functional task light for productivity and general day-to-day usage.

According to the CSA product listing, the SwitchBot Floor Lamp has 3 independent beads (RGB, CW, WW) capable of producing "bright light and natural colors" as well as a variety of dynamic visual effects. The floor lamp's lighting beads have an expected life span of 25,000 hours and as with most RGB lights, it also supports music-syncing.

SwitchBot Hub 3

Also coming soon is the SwitchBot Hub 3, a revamped home gateway device that bridges the company's line of Bluetooth accessories to Matter and other smart ecosystems. In addition to acting as a bridge, the Hub 3 also functions as a remote control for smart home devices with four programmable buttons and a large rotating knob that is seemingly designed for quickly adjusting thermostats and speaker volume.

Above its controls is a large motion-activated display that puts temperature, humidity, and outside weather conditions front and center. While it isn't specifically mentioned in the CSA listing, the indoor temperature and humidity measurements will presumably come from a pair of built-in sensors—just like the previous SwitchBot Hub 2—and weather from a user's location entered in the SwitchBot mobile app.

SwitchBot continues to embrace Matter

As the existence of these two new SwitchBot devices was just revealed today, pricing and availability are currently unknown. However, given SwitchBot's torrid track record of product releases, we expect to hear more about these—and possibly more—devices soon so keep it locked to Matter Alpha for updates.
