The Govee Floor Lamp 2 with Matter Works with Most Smart Home Ecosystems

The Govee Floor Lamp 2 is brighter than its predecessor, with 1,725 lumens of brightness and it features Matter support, meaning it works with Google Home, Apple Home, Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings devices. You can control basic functionality via Matter, including uniform color selection, turning the light on or off, or controlling the brightness — for everything else, there's the Govee Home app. There's also hands-free voice control via Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa.

This is a pretty sleek looking lamp, available in black or silver, and standing six inches tall, with an illuminated base that can display separate lighting effects from the main pole. One gripe we had in our Govee Floor Lamp 2 review was that the base could be heavier as the lamp feels easy to knock over, particularly on carpeted floors or if you have kids or pets.

The lamp's RGBICWW LED arrangement means it can display red, green, and blue, or any combination thereof, for 16 million possible colors to suit your mood. "WW" means that it produces warm white and white light separately from the RGB LEDs, unlike some cheaper lamps, giving you the perfect shade of white whatever you're doing, from 2200k to 6500k.

"IC" stands for "Integrated Circuit" and means that each LED or small segment of LEDs boasts its own controller chip. That allows you to display multiple colors at once along the pole, for example, as a rainbow or gradient of colors.

With Music Mode, you can sync lighting to your tunes, or choose one of over 80 present scene modes such as Rainbow or Sunset. You can even create your own custom DIY modes via the Govee Home app, or sync with your other Govee lights via DreamView, which lets you group lights together.

Though there's no Matter pairing code in the box, setup is pretty quick via the Govee Home app.
