Keyless lock specialist Nuki has commenced celebrations for 10 years in the business with a range of new devices – among them, the affordable Matter-over-Thread compatible Smart Lock Go.

Smart locks make security Matter

If you’ve been eyeing up a smart lock but haven’t been convinced due to price or compatibility worries, the Nuki Smart Lock Go could be just what you’re looking for.

Positioned as an entry-level smart lock, it features keyless entry and smart home connectivity, along with a minimalist design. It also has a great price. For the first time, you can pick up a Matter-enabled smart lock for under €150 EUR (roughly $160 USD). This is a significant price point, one that puts us on the road to making smart locks a mainstream feature in homes across the US and the UK and Europe.

"This makes it possible for customers to purchase a smart lock with Matter support for less than 150 EUR for the first time," notes Martin Pansy, Co-founder and CEO at Nuki.

The Smart Lock Go’s key features

As noted, the Smart Lock Go has Matter-over-Thread support. Not only does this mean it integrates with an existing Matter network, but it is connected using the Thread mesh network. This is a low-power wireless communication, but you also have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options, depending on how you want to interact with the Smart Lock Go.

Power is via 4x AA batteries or a rechargeable Nuki Power Pack, available separately. The Smart Lock Go is backward compatible for retrofitting on existing doors and cylinder locks, and features brushed motor-power unlocking. If you’re wondering if the device can work for you, Nuki’s compatibility guide can help you determine suitability.

Nuko’s birthday lineup expansion

Alongside the Smart Lock Go, Nuki has also launched some other Matter-compatible smart locks. The Smart Lock Pro and Smart Lock Ultra have a wider selection of features, and a price point to match.

Smart Lock Pro: This is a fully retrofittable solution that brings the advanced technology of the Ultra to those who don't want to change their existing cylinder.

Smart Lock Ultra: As Nuki's most compact and powerful smart lock, this device has proved successful for the company, giving them the most successful product launch of their entire range.

“The interest for Smart Lock Ultra has exceeded all our expectations and given us the most successful product launch in Nuki’s history. We are all the more pleased at how quickly we managed to bring all the innovations that are used in Ultra, to a fully retrofittable solution.” says Martin Pansy.

The Nuki Smart Lock Pro is a keyless door lock that supports the new Matter standard for enhanced compatibility with various smart home devices.

"We founded Nuki with the vision of making smart locks a matter-of-course. With the three new locks, we can now respond much more precisely to individual needs. This will help open the door to keyless access solutions for even more people and make smart locks more and more the norm.”

Where can you get the Smart Lock Go?

Currently available for €149 EUR (around $160 USD), the Matter-compatible Nuki Smart Lock Go can be purchased on the Nuki online store.

Meanwhile, the Nuki Smart Lock Pro is €269 EUR/$290 USD and the Nuki Smart Lock Ultra (including Universal Cylinder): €349 EUR /$375 USD.

These accessible, affordable Matter-enabled smart locks are ideal for new and existing smart home setups. Affordable pricing for the Nuki Smart Lock Go could have quite the impact on the smart lock market over the coming months.
