Meross Launches New Matter-Compatible Smart Outdoor Plug Globally

Smart home automation specialist Meross has released its latest device, the MOP320 Matter Smart Outdoor Plug. Designed to remotely control devices in gardens, on patios, and in other outdoor spaces, it has two outlets which can be controlled indivdually or simultaneously.

The Meross MOP320 Smart Outdoor Plug supports the Matter protocol, which means it works with most smart home ecoystems, including Apple HomeKit and Samsung SmartThings. It also works with voice assistants such as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Set up is speedy — just scan the Matter Pairing Code in the box to get started.

As well as remotely controlling outdoor devices, it's possible to set times and schedules — for example. setting outdoor lights to come on at sunset and turn off at sunrise. According to Meross, your schedules will still run even if internet connectivity is down. The smart plug also works with solar systems, for example, to monitor the power generation of a balcony solar system.

Speaking of monitoring, this outdoor plus includes energy monitoring via the Meross app, tracking how much power an outlet is using to help reduce consumption and energy bills. With an IP44 rating for water and dust-resistance, it's capable of withstanding a range of weather conditions and comes with a 1.5-meter power cord.
