SwitchBot recently received another Matter 1.4 certification, aiming to bring more robot vacuum cleaner features to its product lines with Matter.
The new certification, issued on Monday, suggested the SwitchBot Robot Vacuum K10+ Pro Combo will soon upgrade from Matter 1.2 to Matter 1.4, a major bump in specs. Compared to previous versions, Matter 1.4 introduced an important feature, the service area option, with which you can control your vacuum cleaner to clean specific areas based on a floor plan.
The compliance files showed that the SwitchBot Robot Vacuum K10+ Pro Combo will have this optional feature, along with basic clean mode, operation mode, and selection. There is also a feature that allows you to identify the location of your robot vacuum cleaner from Matter platforms.
Also, the device would benefit from fundamental improvements in Matter, meaning better connectivity and stability for the day-to-day experience.
How to upgrade?
Like a regular SwitchBot device, the SwitchBot Robot Vacuum K10+ Pro Combo would need the vendor app for firmware updates when they are available. You would need to set it up properly in the SwitchBot app and check for updates from the app.
As the over-the-air (OTA) cluster is missing from the Matter certification compliance files, it suggests the device won’t support updates via Matter platforms natively.
Matter Alpha has reached out to SwitchBot for the availability of the Matter 1.4 update, but the spokesperson did not comment on our inquiry. Based on previous update routines, it could still be two or more months away from being officially available.
More about K10+ Pro Combo
The SwitchBot K10+ Pro Combo merges a robot vacuum and a cordless stick vacuum into a single system focused on thorough, hands-off cleaning. It has a compact and composed design, which helps it reach and clean tiny and narrow areas for better coverage.
The stand base can consolidate dust from both the vacuum robot and stick cleaner into a sealed 3-liter antibacterial bag, needing emptying only once every 70 days, according to SwitchBot.
The cordless vacuum is designed for deep cleaning, with a brush system that resists tangles—ideal for homes with pets or long hair.
With Matter support, it is controllable via major smart home platforms through apps or voice commands. You can also set an automatic routine to let it clean when you leave home.
