Thankfully, that's no longer the case thanks to the recent release of the junlit Matter Dual Smart Plug, which crams two remote controllable outlets into one space-saving package.

The junlit Matter Dual Smart Plug features two 15-amp 120-volt North American outlets capable of handling up to 1,800-watt electrical loads. Each outlet can be independently controlled via a set of handy on-device buttons or through any of the Matter ecosystems including Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, and Apple Home.
Even with multiple outlets, junlit's smart plug is incredibly compact at just 1.2 inches tall and 3.4 inches wide. Plus, the plug's unique offset horizontal alignment allows for the use of bulky power adapters, and it doesn't block other receptacles on the wall.
The junlit smart plug sports two onboard wireless radios—Bluetooth and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi—that enable quick and seamless pairing without a vendor-specific hub. As with setting up other Matter smart plugs, you'll only need to scan the included pairing code with your phone to get started with automation, scenes, voice commands, and more.
