Smart lighting specialist, Govee, has announced the launch of a new addition to its Matter-compatible range of devices—the Govee BR30 Smart LED Color Light Bulb. The company's new BR30 smart light bulb offers tons of customization options, millions of fun colors, dimming, and more all at an affordable price.
Govee BR30 Smart LED Color Light Bulb: Why it Matters
The Govee BR30 Smart LED Color Light Bulb sports a traditional floodlight bulb design with an E26 base that installs into recessed or can light fixtures. Despite being a smart bulb, Govee's latest smart device is compact and lightweight with mostly plastic construction which measures 3.72 x 5.11 inches.
Govee's 9.5 watt bulb produces up to 850 lumens of bright light and supports over 16 million colors with a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 80. The new BR 30 bulb also features full 1-100% adjustable dimming controls, and tuneable white color temperatures ranging from 2,700-6,500K.
As previously mentioned, Govee's BR30 light bulbs connect directly to Matter and the Govee Home app without the need for a hub over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Through Matter, users can access quick power state toggles, basic color control options, and include them in automation and scenes with other smart home devices through their preferred ecosystem.
Connecting the bulbs to the Govee Home app unlocks additional customization and access to advanced settings. These include popular lighting features such as a Music Sync mode, Dynamic Scenes, and a DIY color that allows for custom colors and effects.

Govee's BR30 Smart LED Color Light Bulbs are available now in a variety of multi-pack options through govee.com and Amazon in the US. Pricing starts at $29.99 for two bulbs, $45.99 for four, and $69.99 for a pack of six.
As with most Govee products, additional discounts are available, including $10 off when purchasing a six-pack directly from the company's website. And, through Amazon, Govee is currently offering coupons that can take up to $15 off when applied during checkout.
