Savant has launched a pair of new, Matter-compatible smart home accessories under its GE lighting line—the Cync Keypad Dimmer Smart Switch and the Cync Paddle Dimmer Smart Switch. First introduced at CES 2025, the new dimmer switches make launching scenes and adjusting lighting quick and easy with a combination of physical, voice, and app-based controls.
GE Cync Paddle Dimmer Smart Switch
The GE Cync Paddle Dimmer Smart Switch features a familiar decora-style design with a large surface for toggling power, and a small slider for dialing in brightness levels. The new Paddle Switch can be used both in single-pole installations and in multi-way scenarios where two or more switches control the same light fixture—typically seen at the top and bottom of staircases.
GE's Paddle Dimmer supports electrical loads up to 150 watts for LED light bulbs, 450 watts for Halogen, or 1.25 amps for Incandescent. According to Savant, the switch is compatible with the wiring in most homes built after 1980, meaning it requires a neutral line in addition to line, load, and ground wires.
GE Cync Keypad Dimmer Smart Switch
Whereas the Paddle Dimmer Switch looks and feels like a traditional smart home offering, the Keypad Dimmer is anything but. Instead of relying on a slider and a rocker, the Keypad sports buttons of various shapes and sizes on its front—two of which are programmable.
Users can program each button to set a favorite scene or toggle multiple lights or device groups with the convenience of a physical press. This makes the Keypad Dimmer effectively a Matter-compatible smart button, and since it's hardwired, users won't need to worry about batteries or adding another device that sits awkwardly off to the side of existing switches on the wall.
And, as with the Paddle Dimmer, the Keypad also supports single-pole and multi-way lighting configurations and requires the presence of both neutral and ground wires for installation.
GE Cync Keypad and Paddle Dimmer Smart Switches: smart controls
Like most Matter-compatible smart light switches, the Cync Keypad and Paddle Dimmer Switches connect to Amazon's Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, and Apple Home within seconds after unboxing. This seamless process comes courtesy of built-in 2.4GHz Wi-Fi radios, allowing the dimmers to connect directly to Matter-compatible ecosystems through an existing home network without an account, hub, or app download.
Through Matter, the switches offer dimming, on/off controls, and the ability to work with other smart home devices through automation and scenes. Savant's new dimmer switches also support the Cync mobile app, which offers scheduling, timers, grouping, and additional integrations with older, pre-Matter devices from the company.
GE Cync Keypad and Paddle Dimmer Smart Switches: pricing and availability
The GE Cync Keypad and Paddle Dimmer Smart Switches are available for order now through Amazon in the United States. Pricing starts at $25.99 for the Paddle Dimmer, while the Keypad Dimmer retails for slightly higher at $44.99 each.
