Aqara thermostat W500 and presence multi-sensor FP300 are officially certified
Aqara's new Matter-over-Thread thermostat and multi-purpose presence sensor are coming with official certifications.

Major Matter device maker Aqara saw a new thermostat W500 and presence sensor FP300 certified, officially listing the device on the Connectivity Standard Alliance product database on Monday, March 24 2025.
Presence Multi-Sensor FP300
Initially revealed at CES in January, the device is a multi-purpose sensor. It integrates several functionalities, including motion sensor, presence sensor, light measurement, temperature, and humidity monitoring. Aqara claims the device will support both Matter-over-Thread and Zigbee.
Aqara has an advanced collection of presence sensors, and has released some high-end presence sensors powered by mmWave radars. The firm also brings AI features to improve accuracy of their presence sensors, and adding more features like sleep monitor and headcount.

Importantly, the FP300 will be battery-powered, with a “battery life of up to two years.” It means you can install the sensor in a room without an outlet or power adapter nearby, marking it a great addition to your setup.
Floor Heating Thermostat W500
This should be the first time Aqara Floor Heating Thermostat W500 made an appearance, unlike other devices teased during CES this year. According to the certification details, the device is based on Thread. But considering Aqara’s roadmap in tech stack, W500 is likely to support Zigbee too like previously released switches and light bulbs.
The naming convention of W500 suggests a connection to Aqara’s existing product line, specifically the W100 climate sensor. But sadly we did not spot binding clusters from the compliance files of both products, which is a must for standard Matter binding between devices like Eve Thermo Control and Eve Thermostat.
An overall look at its compliance files, W500 has a thermostat, a relative humidity sensor, and energy monitoring sensors.
It’s thrilling to see more devices coming with Matter 1.3 specs and energy sensors included, aiming for better energy management across different platforms. And that started to be a regular for Aqara devices.
Another common feature we noticed is that the firmware update support via Matter, which should help you get rid of Aqara apps if you are not a big fan of vendor apps.
Aqara usually announces new products during CES and IFA, so we are likely to know its design and features later this year. Hopefully it would be available before the winter seasons for north america and european markets.
