The CES 2025 event (formerly known as the Consumer Electronics Show) kicks off on January 7th, running until January 10th, in Las Vegas. Considered the biggest showcase for worldwide electronics manufacturers to share their upcoming products, CES has played a big part in delivering smart home tech over the past few years.

A collection of significant Matter devices were unveiled at CES 2024, and we’re expecting even more this time around. Key Matter players Aqara and LG are both known to be unveiling new smart home gear at CES 2025, along with a few smaller companies. Various rumors are also swirling concerning bigger names in the smart home world.

1. Aqara’s Leaked CES 2025 Lineup

Aqara Panel Hub S1 Plus EU

Several devices from Aqara’s new collection were leaked online ahead of CES 2025. These new Aqara Matter smart home devices include:

  • Light Switch H2 EU and Dimmer Switch H2 EU

  • LED Bulb T2 RGB CCT and LED Bulb T2 CCT (Global)

  • Voice Mate H1 (Global)

  • Camera Hub G5 Pro (Global)

However, the device that we’re really interested to take a look at is the Panel Hub S1 Plus EU.

(Aqara’s hardware is named according to the region it is designed for. So, devices labeled “EU” are usually intended for use in the European Union and United Kingdom, along with the CIS (Russia and former Soviet Union) and South East Asia. Items labeled “Global” can be used anywhere.)

2. LG Smart Home Gear Planned for CES 2025

The LG SIGNATURE Over-the-Range Microwave

Meanwhile, LG has its own range of CES 2025 items prepared, but the Matter-compatible showstopper is almost certainly going to be the LG SIGNATURE Over-the-Range Microwave.

Designed specifically to sit over a stove top or range, the microwave is equipped with a 27-inch Full-HD touchscreen, which gives you an idea as to how large it is. Remember, this is an oven, but it also has built-in speakers, and Wi-Fi connectivity, and the display doubles as an access point for the LG ThinQ Smart Home Dashboard. This is compatible with Matter and Thread devices too, making the LG SIGNATURE Over-the-Range Microwave one of the most interesting Matter devices produced so far.

It even features three interior cameras for real-time monitoring of food as it cooks!

Other devices from LG (including the LG SIGNATURE French Door Refrigerator with T-OLED door panel, LG SIGNATURE Slide-in Double Oven Induction Range, LG SIGNATURE Dishwasher, LG SIGNATURE Washer & Dryer and the LG SIGNATURE Washing Machine and Dryer pair) have also been announced in advance. However, we don’t know if these have Matter support at this stage.

3. Eufy Security Video Smart Lock S3 Pro

One of the most interesting, and one that we’re keen to see more of, is the Eufy Security Video Smart Lock S3 Pro. Details on this device are wholly reliant on a Reddit leaker, joshuadwx, but it looks like this could be the first Matter-controlled camera.

The specification for the devbice – also known as the Model T85V0 – includes:

  • Unlockable via palm vein recognition, app control, voice control, passcode, and physical key

  • Two-way audio

  • 4 AA batteries and rechargeable battery (required for camera)

  • USB-C port for emergency power supply

  • Built-in Wi-Fi

  • Compatible with Matter

Eufy has previously released a 3-in-1 system without Matter support. Further details of this device will be gathered during and after CES 2025.

Rumored Devices We Might See at CES 2025

Of course, a huge number of manufacturers are exhibiting new and upcoming hardware at CES 2025. Most of these haven’t leaked their devices ahead of time, but there is the possibility that a few new rumored devices could be unveiled.

Stories about new Matter-compatible speakers from Legato are particularly prominent, but they’re not believed to be at CES 2025, so it seems release might be some way off. Rumored new Matter-compatibles devices from Amazon and Google are also possible at the event.

The CSA Is also at CES

It isn’t just the manufacturers who will be at CES 2025. The collaborative organization behind it all, the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) will also be at CES.

Various alliance personnel will be holding sessions, exploring everything from sustainable smart homes to digital health. The CSA’s presence at CES underpins the importance of Matter in the modern smart home and its continuing (if slow) growth.

Whatever new Matter-compatible hardware is announced at CES 2025, we’ll be reporting on it.
